Manufacturing Biosolutions to Strengthen Supply Chains Symposium

We collaborated with the American Alliance for Biomanufacturing and Georgetown University Earth Commons to host the Manufacturing Biosolutions to Strengthen Supply Chains Symposium in Washington, D.C. This convening brought together policymakers, federal agencies, industry leaders, academic experts, investors, and other stakeholders to discuss the future of U.S. biotechnology and biomanufacturing, with a focus on supply chain resilience, domestic manufacturing capacity, innovation, and regulatory modernization.

Each conversation reinforced that breakthrough science needs to be supported by an effective implementation ecosystem – from public-private partnerships to consistent regulatory pathways – ensuring that promising technologies can successfully move from the laboratory to scaled deployment and impact in practice.

A key takeaway was the essential role of agricultural innovation for supply chain resilience. From disease resistant crops and increased fertilizer efficiency to producing new feedstocks and biomaterials, this sector represents critical opportunities to strengthen domestic manufacturing and grow rural economies.

The future of biotechnology and biomanufacturing will depend not only on what we invent, but on how effectively we work together to implement it.
